Leading this weeks releases is Sherlock Holmes, in which Detective Sherlock Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson engage in a battle of wits and brawn with a nemesis whose plot is a threat to all of England.
The only extra material on the DVD release will be a Sherlock Holmes: Reinvented featurette. The Blu-ray/DVD Combo will include that, along with a WB Maximum Movie Mode (Director Guy Ritchie Walk On, PIP, Focus Points, Storyboard Comparisons, Still Gallery Timeline), deleted scenes, and a digital copy of the film.
The best price for Sherlock Holmes this week is $16.99 for the DVD at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target, and $24.99 for the Blu-ray at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target. Target offers an exclusive version of the DVD for $22.99 with a collectible comic book.
Also releasing this week is Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, in which the world famous singing pre-teen chipmunk trio return to contend with the pressures of school, celebrity, and a rival female music group known as The Chipettes.
The only extra material on the 1-disc DVD will be 2 featurettes ("Munk Music Machine", "Music Mania"). The 2-disc DVD will include those 2 features, along with additional features ("Munking History : 50 Years of Chipmunk Mischief, Mayhem & Music", "Meet the Chipettes", "Rockin’ Rising Stars", "Chipmunks: Behind the Squeaking", "A-NUT-omy of a Scene", "Meet the Stuffies", "Shake Your Groove Thing! With Rosero"), music videos, and more. The Blu-ray release will also include a digital copy of the film.
The best price for Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel this week is $15.99 for the DVD at Target, $22.99 for the 2-DVD pack at Amazon and Best Buy, and $22.99 for the Blu-ray at Amazon. There are no exclusives for this release.
