Leading this weeks releases is 2012, an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.
Extras on the 1-disc DVD will include commentary with Writer/Director Roland Emmerich and Co-Writer Harald Kloser, deleted scenes, an alternate ending, a Roland Emmerich: The Master of the Modern Epic featurette, and a "Time For Miracles" Music Video by Adam Lambert. The 2-disc Blu-ray will include all that, along with additional featurettes, a Picture-In-Picture function including Pre-Visualization, storyboards and behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with filmmakers, cast and crew, and an Interactive Mayan Calendar.
The best price for 2012 this week is $15.99 for the DVD at Amazon and Target, $19.99 for the 1-Disc Blu-ray at Amazon, Target, and Best Buy, and $22.99 for the 2-Disc Blu-ray at Amazon and Target. There are no exclusives for this release. Target offers the Discovery Channel documentary 2012 Apocalypse with purchase of the 2-Disc Blu-ray.
