Blu-Ray And DVD Releases For 12/1/09

Leading this weeks releases is Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, which is about Security guard Larry Daley, who infiltrates the Smithsonian Institute in order to rescue Jedediah and Octavius, who have been shipped to the museum by mistake.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is available this week as a 1-Disc DVD, 2-Disc Monkey Mischief Pack, and 3-Disc Blu-Ray.

The only extra material on the 1-disc DVD will be commentary by cast and crew, featurettes, six deleted scenes with an alternate ending, and a gag reel. The 2-disc "Monkey Mischief" DVD will include all that, along with featurettes ("Monkey Business", "Primate Prima Donnas", "The Secret Life of a Monkey Movie Star: Life Off Camera"), and 2 games ("Monkey Slap Game", "Abel and Dexter’s Flights Of Fancy"). The Blu-ray release will include all of the above, plus additional featurettes, a digital copy of the film, and a copy of the standard definition DVD.

The best price for Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian this week is $9.99 for the 1-Disc DVD at Amazon, $22.99 for the 2-Disc Monkey Mischief Pack, and $18.99 for the Blu-Ray at Amazon.  There are no exclusives for this release.

Also releasing this week is Terminator Salvation, which takes place after Skynet has destroyed much of humanity in a nuclear holocaust, a group of survivors led by John Connor struggles to keep the machines from finishing the job.

Terminator Salvation is available this week on DVD and Blu-Ray.

The 1-disc DVD will include the theatrical cut of the film, along with a Moto-Terminator featurette. The 3-disc Blu-ray will include theatrical and directors cuts of the film, along with featurettes ("Re-Forging the Future", "The Moto-Terminator"), a "Resist or Be Terminated” Video Archive, a Terminator Salvation Official Movie Prequel Digital Comic Issue #1, a WB Maximum Movie Mode, Focus Points, and a digital copy of the theatrical version.

The best price for Terminator Salvation this week is $9.99 for the DVD at Amazon, and $15.99 for the Blu-Ray at Amazon.  A Best Buy Exclusive Terminator Salvation Endoskull Blu-Ray Case is available for $34.99.
